The greatest gift you can give yourself is to first accept you have empathic traits. The second is to understand this is not a curse. The third is to learn all you can to hone these skills.
It is okay to say you are/were a victim of others, for awhile. It is kind of like mourning you must go through the stages of grief and loss.
What is important is the ability to moving forward pass those stages. I still have days when I want to contact those who used me, disrespected me and walked over me like artificial turf and tell them what horrific people they are. But I come back quicker each time to not letting them affect me too much anymore.
I am thankful for finding out why I led the life I led, why others hurt me, why I hurt others.
Gratitude for what is right in front of us changes the prism we live in and the colors we see.
